MusclePharm caught red handed, Amino spiking charged

MusclePharm the 110 Millions company has been been accused of cheating their costumers through a process known as "Amino Spiking" or "Protein Spiking".

How it works?

The evil company seek to maximize it's benefit and minimize the expenses. taking an honest competition is not a choice better just cheat and lie to the unprotected costumer by filling the 5lbs tubes with free Aminos, Creatine Monohydrates, glutamin and anything cheap but the whey protein since the whey costs 6USD for pound and aminos costs less than 1$ for pound. the added aminos are labeled as protein.

Breaking the law

“FDA requires that dietary supplements be labeled in a manner that is truthful and not misleading. With regard to the labeling of protein content, FDA’s expectation for proper nutrition labeling is that firms will evaluate the protein content from actual protein sources—not other nitrogen-containing ingredients such as individual amino acids—and label the products consistent with the results of such evaluations,”  FDA press officer Jennifer Dooren.

however, don't expect the FDA to protect you and lawsuit the company. this is where law firms came to scene. backed by confirmed lab tests "Ram, Olson, Cereghino & Kopczynski" sued MusclePharm in California federal court. the Laboratory tests revealed that MusclePharm products contain less than half of the claimed protein content!

“I believe it is a pretty simple, cut and dry issue: We allege in these lawsuits that these companies use misleading language on the label regarding the amount of actual protein in the products, and the consumers are the ones that pay. That’s the bottom line,” says Nick Suciu, the lead attorney for the plaintiffs on many of the lawsuits. “I began developing the cases because customers have been misled by this practice for years.”

By then Nothing happens!

sorry to disappoint you but the case was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiffs, indicating the parties likely reached an out-of-court agreement. Neither company provided comment.

Guilty

the composition of a dietary supplement can be revealed through a simple laboratory test thereby  musclepharm could easily defend its products in court but the company choose to "resolve" it out of court what can be a strong proof that the company is guilty.
